Meet Alex, your friendly Portland tour guide
With 10 years of tour guide experience, Alex can’t wait to show you around town!
Alex moved to Portland in 2024 after spending ten years in the San Francisco Bay Area. He started leading tours in SF in 2016 as a way to get to know the city better, and he’s now doing the same in Portland. While his tenure here may be brief, he does lots of research before each tour to make sure the stories he shares are factual and meaningful. While his tours cover many aspects of city history, he’s particularly interested in demographic shifts, social justice, and the stories of local businesses and organizations shaping our neighborhoods and city today.
He believes that getting to know your city better helps you be a better resident, neighbor, and voter, and he looks forward to helping you get to know Portland better. When not leading tours, you can find Alex hanging out with his partner Cory and their dog Nacho, cheering on local sports teams, or checking out art events around town.
